Terms & Conditions of Stay

The Heights Hotel Killarney

These Terms & Conditions apply to all reservations and stays at The Heights Hotel Killarney. By making a booking, guests confirm that they have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these terms, without prejudice to their statutory rights under Irish consumer law.


1. Reservations & Rates

  • All rates are quoted in Euro and include VAT at the applicable rate, unless otherwise stated.

  • Rates are subject to availability and may vary by date, room type, and booking channel.

  • The hotel reserves the right to amend rates where a genuine error has occurred. Any such amendment will be communicated prior to arrival, and guests may cancel without penalty if they do not wish to proceed.


2. Check-In & Check-Out

  • Check-in: from 3.00pm

  • Check-out: by 11.00am

Early check-in and late check-out are subject to availability and may incur an additional charge.


3. Identification, Guest Details & Payment

All guests must comply with the hotel’s Guest Identification, Contact Details & Payment Policy, including:

  • Presentation of valid government-issued photo ID on arrival

  • Provision of full address and contact details

  • Card-only payment policy

  • Preauthorisation at check-in

Failure to comply may result in refusal of check-in or cancellation of the reservation.


4. Deposits & Preauthorisation

  • Certain rates, packages, or group bookings may require a deposit or full prepayment at the time of booking.

  • A preauthorisation will be taken at check-in to cover accommodation and incidentals, in line with hotel policy.


5. Cancellation & Amendments

Cancellation and amendment terms vary depending on the rate booked.

  • Flexible rates may be cancelled or amended up to a specified time prior to arrival without penalty.

  • Non-refundable or advance purchase rates are non-cancellable and non-amendable.

  • Cancellations outside permitted timeframes may incur charges up to the full value of the stay.

Full details are provided at the time of booking and in the booking confirmation.


6. No-Shows & Early Departure

  • Failure to arrive on the scheduled arrival date without prior notice will be treated as a no-show, and charges may apply in line with the booked rate conditions.

  • Early departures may be charged for the full stay unless otherwise agreed in advance.


7. Occupancy & Children

  • Maximum room occupancy limits apply and must be adhered to at all times.

  • Children must be supervised by a responsible adult at all times throughout the hotel.

  • Cots and extra beds are subject to availability and must be requested in advance.


8. Guest Conduct

Guests are expected to behave in a manner that does not disturb other guests or staff.

The hotel reserves the right to refuse service, terminate a stay, or remove guests from the premises, acting reasonably, where behaviour is deemed unsafe, disruptive, abusive, or unlawful. In such circumstances, no refund will be due.


9. Damage & Loss

Guests are responsible for any damage caused to hotel property during their stay, beyond normal wear and tear.

The hotel may recover reasonable costs for repair, replacement, or cleaning where damage occurs. The hotel is not responsible for loss or damage to guests’ personal belongings unless caused by the hotel’s negligence.


10. Smoking Policy

The Heights Hotel operates a strict non-smoking policy in all bedrooms and internal public areas.

A cleaning charge will apply where evidence of smoking is found in a guest bedroom or internal area.


11. Pets

Pets are not permitted within the hotel, with the exception of registered assistance dogs.


12. Car Parking

Complimentary car parking is provided for guests. Vehicles are parked at the owner’s risk, subject to statutory liability provisions.


13. Force Majeure

The hotel shall not be liable for failure to perform its obligations where such failure results from events beyond its reasonable control, including but not limited to acts of God, fire, flooding, adverse weather, industrial action, or government restrictions.

The Heights Hotel shall not be liable for failure to perform its obligations where such failure results from events beyond its reasonable control, including but not limited to acts of God, fire, flooding, adverse weather conditions, utility failures, industrial action, public health emergencies, government restrictions, or any other emergency or safety-related circumstances.

In such circumstances, the hotel reserves the right, acting reasonably, to cancel, amend, or suspend reservations where it is necessary to do so in the interests of guest safety, staff welfare, or the protection of the property. Where a booking is cancelled by the hotel for such reasons, any refunds or alternative arrangements will be offered in accordance with applicable consumer protection legislation.


14. Data Protection

Personal data is processed in accordance with GDPR, Irish data protection legislation, and the hotel’s Privacy Policy. Data is collected solely for legitimate operational, contractual, and legal purposes.


15. Governing Law

These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of Ireland, and the Irish courts shall have exclusive jurisdiction.


16. Statutory Rights

Nothing in these Terms & Conditions affects or limits a guest’s statutory rights under Irish consumer protection legislation.

 

Guest Identification, Contact Details & Payment Policy

The Heights Hotel Killarney

Purpose

This policy is in place to comply with applicable legal and regulatory obligations, to protect guests and the hotel from fraud and financial loss, and to ensure the safe and efficient operation of the property.


1. Identification Requirement

Upon arrival, all guests must present valid, original, government-issued photo identification.

Accepted forms of identification include, but are not limited to:

  • Passport

  • Driving licence

  • National identity card

The name on the photo identification must correspond with the name on the reservation. Copies, photographs, or expired documents are not acceptable.


2. Guest Information Requirement

Guests are required to provide accurate and complete personal details at check-in, including:

  • Full residential address

  • Valid contact telephone number

  • Valid email address

Failure to provide complete or accurate details may result in refusal of check-in or cancellation of the reservation.


3. Payment Terms

The Heights Hotel operates a card-only payment policy. Cash payments are not accepted.

The payment card presented at check-in must be issued in the same name as the guest’s photo identification.
Third-party cards will only be accepted where prior written authorisation has been provided to, and approved by, hotel management in advance of arrival.


4. Preauthorisation

A preauthorisation will be required on all guest payment cards at check-in.

This preauthorisation is taken to cover:

  • Accommodation charges

  • Incidentals

  • Any additional services or damages incurred during the stay

The amount authorised will vary depending on room type, length of stay, and booking conditions. Preauthorisations are released in accordance with the card issuer’s processing timelines following departure, subject to any charges properly incurred.


5. Right to Refuse, Modify or Cancel

Where a guest is unable or unwilling to:

  • Present valid government-issued photo identification

  • Provide full and accurate address and contact details

  • Present a valid payment card in their own name

  • Permit a preauthorisation to be completed

The Heights Hotel reserves the right, acting reasonably and proportionately, to refuse check-in, cancel the reservation, or amend the booking terms.

Any such decision will be made in good faith and in accordance with applicable Irish consumer protection legislation.


6. Refunds & Charges

Where a reservation is cancelled or refused due to non-compliance with this policy, refunds (if any) will be processed in line with the applicable cancellation terms of the rate booked. This does not affect any statutory consumer rights.


7. Data Protection

All personal data collected under this policy is processed in accordance with:

  • The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)

  • Irish data protection legislation

  • The hotel’s Privacy Policy

Personal information is collected solely for legitimate operational, security, and legal purposes.


8. Acceptance of Policy

By making a reservation with The Heights Hotel, guests confirm that they have read, understood, and agreed to this policy as a condition of their stay. Nothing in this policy affects a guest’s statutory rights under Irish law.

By confirming a reservation at The Heights Hotel, guests agree that these Terms & Conditions of Stay apply to their booking, irrespective of whether the reservation is made directly with the hotel or via a third-party booking platform.
